Building Stronger Dancers – Injury Prevention and Wellness in the Studio

Course Description

Join pediatric physiotherapist and dance educator Cassandra Knisely for an engaging workshop exploring the most common injuries seen in dancers and practical strategies to help prevent them. Learn how to incorporate simple, physiotherapy-informed exercises and wellness practices into your classes to support healthy movement, build resilience, and create a culture of injury prevention within your studio.

Born and raised in North Battleford, Saskatchewan, Cassandra completed her CDTA Advanced Tap and RAD Advanced II Ballet examinations before continuing her training in New York City at Broadway Dance Center and Peridance Center. During her three years in NYC, she had the opportunity to perform at numerous events, including the APAP Festival, Young Choreographer’s Festival, and Carnival Choreographer’s Ball.

Since returning to Canada in the fall of 2016, Cassandra transitioned into teaching and choreography roles. Cassandra is a graduate of the RAD Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies program and is a fully certified RAD Ballet teacher. As such, she has had the pleasure of preparing students for ballet exams from Primary – Advanced II. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and a Master of Physical Therapy from the University of Saskatchewan.

Now specializing in pediatric physical therapy, Cassandra is especially passionate about working with dancers. She takes a holistic approach to care, combining education and individualized training to help each dancer build resilience and reach their full potential.
