Jane Davis-Munro, is a dance educator, with four decades of success in operating a thriving dance and art studio in Toronto, Canada. As a Registered Educator, Mentor, and Practical Teaching Supervisor affiliated with the Royal Academy of Dance, she has been recognized for her exceptional contributions with invitations to conduct master classes for both the RAD and Canada’s National Ballet School’s esteemed teacher training program.

Specializing in Ballet and Early Childhood dance, Ms. Davis-Munro holds Advanced One certificates in Ballet from the Royal Academy of Dance, as well as certifications in Modern and National Dance from the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance. Her academic journey includes graduating from Toronto Metropolitan University’s Theatre Department, with a focus on Dance, and obtaining a certificate in Early Childhood Education.  Ms. Davis-Munro, alongside her daughters, serves as the co-creator of the Childhood Expressions ™ Fine Arts Curriculum. Together, they are dedicated to advancing and sharing this legacy affiliate program, a collaborative project initiated with her mother, Lynda Johnson, a Visual Artist.

Additionally, Jane is a Certified a Children’s Wisdom Coach (Adventures in Wisdom™ ), and a Dare to Declare™ Certified Vision Board Facilitator.

Beyond her credentials, Jane is driven by a mission to nurture positive connections and belonging through dance and the arts. Her commitment lies in fostering the confidence, happiness, and health of children. She firmly believes that dance and arts based education plays a fundamental role in a child’s physical, mental, and artistic development. Jane Davis-Munro’s unwavering dedication is centered on serving and creating communities that empower children to thrive.

 

Lara Munro was introduced to dance at the age of three and as an older child joined Modern dance company Canadian Children’s Dance Theatre with whom she danced for ten years.  She completed her Intermediate (Advanced One) Ballet Exam under the Royal Academy of Dance.  

Lara trained as a Pilates instructor with the Stott Pilates Method.  She began teaching pre-school age children at Pegasus in the Childhood Expressions program and is co-creator of Childhood Expressions ™ Fine Arts Curriculum. Lara certified as a  Kindermusik Educator and continues to teach parent and child music and movement classes.  

Lara currently teaches in the Modern Contemporary program at Pegasus Dance Studios. She has trained extensively under Donna Krasnow in Limon technique, completed the Martha Graham School Summer Teacher Workshop and is a licensed Rambert Grades teacher. Lara also trained as an Adaptive Dance Educator with Rhythm Works and has developed an adaptive dance program called Dance With Heart at Pegasus Dance Studios for children with diverse needs and exceptionalities. 

Lara continues  her work in the community outside the dance studio as a La Leche League Leader, volunteers in community children’s programs and sat on the board of the Storytellers for Children. Lara is passionate about supporting  the community through the arts.
