Supporting Injury Prevention in the Studio
This practical, workshop trains dance educators to identify early signs of injury, understand common movement patterns that lead to pain, and confidently integrate safe strength and conditioning strategies into class. Teachers learn how to modify movements, support injured dancers without sidelining them, and use exercise-science principles to reduce strain on the hips, knees, spine, and ankles. The session includes red-flag identification, warm-up optimization, neuromuscular activation, and mini programs teachers can implement immediately. Practical interventions and tools to build healthier, more resilient dancers.

Her career spans international tours and collaborations with acclaimed companies such as Litz Dance, Red Sky Performance, Larchaud Dance Project, Gadfly, ACE Dance Theatre, Hit and Run Productions, Remai Modern, Mucci Dance, and Nickelodeon. She has performed across Canada, the United States, Europe, and Australia, continually seeking work that challenges and inspires her as deeply as the art itself. Highlights of her performance career include the Australia Joint Dance Congress, appearances with the Toronto and Vancouver Symphony Orchestras, Remai Modern’s LUGO, and the renowned Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival—experiences that continue to shape her expansive view of what’s possible through movement. Lindsay holds a Bachelor of Kinesiology with a major in Human Kinetics, a foundation that informs both her creative and pedagogical practices. She co-founded where we collective, a platform that offers performance and educational opportunities for emerging and preprofessional artists. Through the collective, she runs a summer sleep-away intensive, where we CONNECT, and is preparing to launch a professional residency in 2026. As a creator, Lindsay has recently choreographed and directed several dance films, including Criss Cross, Synonymous Red, SHH, and Behind Us, which premiered in a hybrid live performance in Fall 2023. Her cross-disciplinary approach also led to the development of a cross conditioning syllabus tailored for dancers, which she has taught to post-secondary programs such as Modus Operandi, Source Dance Company, SFU, and Lamondance.
Alongside her teaching, adjudicating, and dance work, she is a Kinesiologist at the Performance Clinic at Ballet BC Headquarters, focusing on injury rehabilitation and pre-habilitation for dancers, and high-performance athletes. Lindsay is passionate about movement as both an expressive and functional art form, and is committed to fostering sustainable, embodied practices in the next generation of artists.
